Some mods include the ability to fill apartments with other people and multiple apartments to choose from, the ability to travel inside stores and restaurants, and increased child specific interactions/ability to build skills (as child Sims can be exceptionally boring without the aid of the Generations pack.). Several mods have been created to combine the best elements of every installment into the third installment, in order to make the greatest game possible. In the second installment, a wide social circle was required to advance to higher levels and the constant tasks required for promotions in the fourth installment is cumbersome to say the least (not to mention that The Sims 4 sold basic careers as an expensive game pack.)RELATED:However, some players felt limited by the countless careers available and created mods to bring new jobs to the game. It is this writer's belief that the Sims 3 had the best version of careers out of the entire series. There are mods that allow players to bring Jungle and Savannah cats to the game. Horses, reptiles, and rodents galore (not to mention the traditional cats and dogs,) it’s no wonder that the limited Cats & Dogs pack was a disappointment (despite how utterly adorable the pets in Sims 4 are.) But some players were unsatisfied with the plethora of animals available to them and decided to bring new creatures to the game. The Sims 3 Pets expansion pack was, without a doubt, the best version of the Pets Expansion ever created for the Sims series. Slowing down consumption times allows players to create wholesome family dinners whilst speeding them up allows Sims to grab a nice meal before heading off to work to prevent starving during their shift. These tools can overhaul the way that the game expresses itself and the ways in which it simulates the world around the active Sim but they cannot change what the game is at a fundamental level.

At their best, these mods make it possible to play the game more like an RPG, where the player character is a household, or they provide power to direct the flow of the neighbourhood like the director/writer of an extraordinary sit-com or soap opera.What many people may expect is a mod that changes the game’s soul but none of these do that. What I’m talking about are the in depth processes which unlock the world and give it life.

These are people who really know how to delve beneath the hood of a game and make it purr.I’m not talking about the millions of hairstyles and dresses that can be downloaded, or even the mannequins of Twilight characters that players can download and force to engage in the least erotic romantic pursuits imagined since the writing of the Twilight books. At least not until modders start engineering their elaborate designs.The astounding work carried out by The Sims 3 modding community marks it out as a game with appeal for the dedicated PC aficionado. Even though the active house isn’t the only that exists at any one time, as was the case in the earlier games, there’s not a lot going on elsewhere.
